Dragos Ailoae is an applied economist who combines rigorous causal inference econometrics with over a decade of global markets experience to help clients resolve valuation and damages disputes relating to securities and financial services matters.

Dr. Ailoae has experience performing:

  • Event study analyses to assess market efficiency, price impact, loss causation, and damages.
  • Valuation of cash and derivative securities (equities, fixed income, FX, and index-linked products) in securities and contract disputes.
  • Portfolio-level analytics to quantify economic harm and benchmark performance attribution.

Dr. Ailoae holds a PhD in Economics from the CUNY Graduate Center, a Master of Arts degree in Economics from New York University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University.  He is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the New York University Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, where he teaches courses on applied econometrics.

Before joining BVA, Dr. Ailoae was a Credit Strategist at Bloomberg Intelligence where he delivered macro, market structure, and portfolio analytics insights on global corporate credit.  Preceding that, he was a Vice President in Index Research at Deutsche Bank’s Global Markets Research division, where he designed and launched multi-asset ETFs, ETNs, and other index-linked products.
